When things in your life seem Almost too much to handle

i was going thru this article and felt lyk sharing it with all;

When things in your life seem Almost too much to handle,
When 24 Hours in a day is not enough,
Remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class
And had some items in front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly,
He picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar
And proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students, if the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured
them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly.
The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again
If the jar was full... They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand

And poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded
With an unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced Two cups of coffee from under the table
And poured the entire contents Into the jar, effectively
Filling the empty space between the sand.
The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor, As the laughter subsided,
'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life..
The golf balls are the important things - God, family,
children, health, friends, and favorite passions –

Things that if everything else was lost
And only they remained, your life would still be full.
The pebbles are the other things that matter Like your job, house, and car.

The sand is everything else --
The small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' He continued,
'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff,
You will never have room for the things that are
Important to you.

So...

Pay attention to the things That are critical to your happiness.
Play with your children.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out to dinner.

There will always be time
To clean the house and fix the disposal.

'Take care of the golf balls first --
The things that really matter.
Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand
And inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled.
'I'm glad you asked'.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem,
there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.'

Give another look to your perception!

A young couple moves into a new neighborhood. The next morning, while
they are eating breakfast, the young woman sees her neighbor hang the
wash outside.

That laundry is not very clean, she said, she doesn't know how to
wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap.

Her husband looked on, but remained silent. Every time her neighbor
would hang her wash to dry, the young woman would make the same
comments.

About one month later, the woman was surprised to see a nice clean
wash on the line and said to her husband: "Look! She has learned how
to wash correctly. I wonder who taught her this."

The husband said: "I got up early this morning and cleaned our
windows!"

And so it is with life: "What we see when watching others depends on the purity of the window through which we look. Before we give any criticism, it might be a good idea to check our state of mind and ask ourselves if we are ready to see the good rather than to be looking for something in the person we are about to judge. Selfless Love

My wife called, 'How long will you be with that newspaper? Will you
come here and make your darling daughter eat her food?

I tossed the paper away and rushed to the scene. My only daughter,
Sindu, looked frightened; tears were welling up in her eyes. In front of
her was a bowl filled to its brim with curd rice. Sindu is a nice child, quite
intelligent for her age.

I cleared my throat and picked up the bowl. 'Sindu, darling, why don't
you take a few mouthful of this curd rice? Just for Dad's sake, dear'.

Sindu softened a bit and wiped her tears with the back of her hands.
'Ok, Dad. I will eat - not just a few mouthfuls, but the whole lot of this.
But, you should...' Sindu hesitated. 'Dad, if I eat this entire curd Rice,
will you give me whatever I ask for?'

'Promise'. I covered the pink soft hand extended by my daughter with
mine, and clinched the deal. Now I became a bit anxious. 'Sindu, dear,
you shouldn't insist on getting a computer or any such expensive items.
Dad does not have that kind of money right now. Ok?'

'No, Dad. I do not want anything expensive'. Slowly and painfully, she
finished eating the whole quantity. I was silently angry with my wife and
my mother for forcing my child to eat something that she detested.

After the ordeal was through, Sindu came to me with her eyes wide with
expectation. All our attention was on her.

'Dad, I want to have my head shaved off, this Sunday!' was her demand.

'Atrocious!' shouted my wife, 'A girl child having her head shaved off?
Impossible!'

'Never in our family!' My mother rasped. 'She has been watching too
much of television. Our culture is getting totally spoiled with these TV
programs!'

'Sindu, darling, why don't you ask for something else? We will be sad
seeing you with a clean-shaven head.'

'Please, Sindu, why don't you try to understand our feelings?' I tried
to plead with her.

'Dad, you saw how difficult it was for me to eat that Curd Rice'.
Sindu was in tears. 'And you promised to grant me whatever I ask for.
Now, you are going back on your words. Was it not you who told me the story of
King Harishchandra, and its moral that we should honor our promises no
matter what?'

It was time for me to call the shots. 'Our promise must be kept.'

'Are you out of your mind?' chorused my mother and wife.

'No. If we go back on ourpromises, she will never learn to honour her
own. Sindu, your wish will be fulfilled.'

With her head clean-shaven, Sindu had a round-face, and her eyes
looked big and beautiful.

On Monday morning, I dropped her at her school. It was a sight to
watch my hairless Sindu walking towards her classroom. She turned around
and waved. I waved back with a smile. Just then, a boy alighted from a car,
and shouted, 'Sinduja, please wait for me!' What struck me was the
hairless head of that boy. 'May be, that is the in-stuff', I thought.

'Sir, your daughter Sinduja is great indeed!' Without introducing herself,
a lady got out of the car, and continued, 'that boy who is walking
along with your daughter is my son Harish. He is suffering from...
leukemia'. She paused to muffle her sobs. 'Harish could not attend the
school for the whole of the last month. He lost all his hair due to the
side effects of the chemotherapy. He refused to come back to school fearing the
unintentional but cruel teasing of the schoolmates. Sinduja visited him last
week, and promised him that she will take care of the teasing issue. But, I
never imagined she would sacrifice her lovely hair for the sake of my son!
Sir, you and your wife are blessed to have such a noble soul as your daughter.'

I stood transfixed and then, I wept. 'My little Angel, you are teaching me how selfless real love is!'

The happiest people on this planet are not those who live on their own
terms but are those who change their terms for the ones whom they love !!

Life is Changing

Life is Changing
By Lou Wilkinson

Life is changing; rearranging.
News brings cataclysmic aging;
Tremors driving, fear is thriving,
Memories fading - reaching, dying.

Friendships questionned, loved ones tested.
Seeking truths and never rested.
Old wounds healed while others festered,
Some are lost and never quested.

Eyes that watch, that judge too soon,
Quivering lips recite a tune,
Body's shaking much too soon,
Dancing dances, before noon.

Soul survives, the limits drawn,
Finding faith to right the wrong.
Each new day that presses on,
Silently waits and then is gone.

Veil that drops and never rises,
Life so seldom brings surprises.
Peace that quietly surmises,
Sleep - the final answer rises.

Loved ones feelings are still fresh,
Suffering ended, gone the flesh
Time replaces, left to mesh
The empty void that's always left.

**This is one of my favorite poem and is too close to my heart !

Love simply is...

Love is not a habit, a commitment or a debt. It isn't what romantic songs tell us it is - LOVE SIMPLY IS !
That is the testament of Athena or sherine or Hagia Sofia - LOVE IS.

No Definitions.

Love and dont ask too many questions. Just Love!

Love & Forgiveness

How can these two words, love and forgiveness change your whole perspective on life? First, you must put your trust in something bigger than yourself. You may call it God, Spirit, Budda, whatever your faith is, trust that it has a bigger plan (could it be a lesson in forgiveness?) than your everyday troubles. What is the most important lesson you can learn while here on earth? Love and Forgiveness. But how do you get to the Love part if you have hatred in your heart? Forgive. It sounds so simple and yet it can be the most difficult thing that you can do in this lifetime.

You were wronged or someone betrayed you, how can you let that go? Forgive. Forgive and it will set your heart free. Here are some steps that can get you there. Feel your anger, feel your sadness, feel whatever it is you need to get all those emotions out, write it down and then throw it away. Give yourself a certain timeframe in which you will no longer continue to go on with those emotions. Now comes the hard part, trying to convince yourself that the other person deserves to be forgiven. Every time this hurt comes into your heart, say to yourself "I forgive "name" for what they have done". Every time you start to go over the scenario, and start to get angry or sad, instead replace it with "I forgive "name" for what they have done". You might not believe what you are saying at first. But sending that message out into the universe will eventually help break the chain of black energy that links you together with an invisible line of hate.

Hopefully it will hit you one day. You can let it go, the hate, the anger, the betrayal, how you were wronged and in a peaceful loving moment truly feel that forgiveness. The best possible way to break the chain of hate that connects you by an invisible link, is to stand and face this person and truly believing and feeling in your heart what you are about to say to them. "No matter what you have done to me, I forgive you" It is truly disarming, and can break that link that binds you. That's it! It may be a long and hard task to get to that one simple line.

What does it feel like? Once you have set each other free, your heart feels lighter, you have an overwhelming feeling of peace. You suddenly understand it all, the reason you are here, the lessons that you need to learn while on this earth plane. You will never be the same, because in every situation you can begin to feel compassion, humility and gratitude toward your fellow travelers here on earth.
So You can LOVE again. You are a radiant being moving forward in life.

It's My Birthday

WUHUUUU.....its my birthday today. 8th September '85 was the day the whole world was blessed with angel named Tayyaba :P

When i was young i looked lyk this :D
i Luved my outfits ;)

i luved the parties :P
&
enjoyed eating cake!!!

PLACE MY GIFTS NEXT TO MY TABLE :D khe khe khe khe
One of the benefits (really the only benefit) of having one's birthday fall on a holiday is that you can usually guarantee a long weekend in which to celebrate. I had 3 days planned of bliss and merriment which I was especially looking forward to on a couple of fronts. First, I've been working a lot of weekdays working late and just having a runnaway weekend is a bona fide treat. Second, my mom and I actually had a non-Sunday day off together which meant that we could go out and have fun while shopping. That is a very rare treat, indeed.
Saturday, it started for me before than actually the saturday started :P i recieved my first phone call by my far away friend but quite quite dear to me..PeTu... then 10 mins to 12 i started recieving msgs on n off from my mamoo, friends, juinors, collegues, loved ones...attended a huge list of calls.....n it took almost 1 hour to end up....not to miss my Gifted Brother DADDU also called me....n tht was a huge surprise for me....although i got a lil hint b4 but i still didnt get wat i was told...neways....last msg after a complete hour was of a guy(long awaited enemy i guess)....then on net....got soo many wishes from my net friends, neighbours, univ fellows, and my social circle...... it was a blessed day indeed. i slept quite late. I woke up in the morning quite late cuz of last nite...All day went perfecty well....presents,love,happiness,surprises,Dinner.....CAKE Ofcourse :D
It was a great feeling.
I got very pretty flowers and gifts. For all my griping it was a good weekend. Having people over to visit isn't the end of the world and is actually pretty nice. Being able to help out at work. And being "forced" to wander around Target sounds like a pretty good way to spend a day off.
I've decided I really need to enjoy this year especially since this is my ambitious year. Yea! My opinion matters for one more year! Go me!
I am excited for it.
And it is only during my birthday that someone remembers my existence.
I am probably the least Zen person among my friends. Because I get so excited for the future, I’d dream up different scenarios already. I have been this way since I was small, I am always making plans for the future, and imagining things in my head.
I am so excited, that just for my birthday, but also for masters/MS(status :P), which is actually a year from now according to my dreamz :D. But I already can’t wait for it.
I wonder what would happen to me once I’m 40?
Or in the future in general, actually :D

Caught in the Candle's Light

Many years have passed us by
Each one I carefully trace
Remembering the time we shared
These moments I embrace

Strong and filled with wisdom
My kind and gentle heart
You filled me with the deepest love
My blessed work of art

Kindness did exude from you
Such peace I always found
Together with my memories
My heart to you is bound

Candle glow upon the wall
I see you standing there
Smile of love my masterpiece
This canvas heart will wear

Flicking within the night
Our shadows now will meet
Dancing in the softest light

Two hearts of love now greet

Flame of love will always burn
No matter where you are
Look upon the softest glow
You're never really far.

Interesting Management Stories

Story # 1

It's a fine sunny day in the forest and a lion is sitting outside his cave, lying lazily in the sun. Along comes a fox, out on a walk.

Fox: "Do you know the time, because my watch is broken"
Lion: "Oh, I can easily fix the watch for you"

Fox: "Hmm... But it's a very complicated mechanism, and your big claws will only destroy it even more."
Lion: "Oh no, give it to me, and it will be fixed"

Fox: "That's ridiculous! Any fool knows that lazy lions with great claws cannot fix complicated watches"
Lion: "Sure they do, give it to me and it will be fixed"

The lion disappears into his cave, and after a while he comes back with the watch which is running perfectly. The fox is impressed, and the lion continues to lie lazily in the sun, looking very pleased with himself. Soon a wolf comes along and stops to watch the lazy lion in the sun.

Wolf: "Can I come and watch TV tonight with you, because mine is broken"
Lion: "Oh, I can easily fix your TV for you"
Wolf: "You don't expect me to believe such rubbish, do you? There is no way that a lazy lion with big claws can fix a complicated TV
Lion: "No problem. Do you want to try it?"

The lion goes into his cave, and after a while comes back with a perfectly fixed TV. The wolf goes away happily and amazed.

Scene : Inside the lion's cave. In one corner are half a dozen small and intelligent looking rabbits who are busily doing very complicated work with very detailed instruments. In the other corner lies a huge lion looking very pleased with himself.

Moral :
IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY A MANAGER IS FAMOUS; LOOK AT THE WORK OF HIS SUBORDINATES.

Management Lesson in the context of the working world :
IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY SOMEONE UNDESERVED IS PROMOTED; LOOK AT THE WORK OF HIS SUBORDINATES

Story # 2

It's a fine sunny day in the forest and a rabbit is sitting outside his burrow, tippy-tapping on his typewriter. Along comes a fox, out for a walk.

Fox: "What are you working on?"
Rabbit: "My thesis."
Fox: "Hmm... What is it about?"
Rabbit: "Oh, I'm writing about how rabbits eat foxes."

Fox: "That's ridiculous ! Any fool knows that rabbits don't eat foxes!
Rabbit: "Come with me and I'll show you!"

They both disappear into the rabbit's burrow. After few minutes, gnawing on a fox bone, the rabbit returns to his typewriter and resumes typing.

Soon a wolf comes along and stops to watch the hardworking rabbit.

Wolf: "What's that you are writing?"
Rabbit: "I'm doing a thesis on how rabbits eat wolves."

Wolf: "you don't expect to get such rubbish published, do you?"
Rabbit: "No problem. Do you want to see why?"

The rabbit and the wolf go into the burrow and again the rabbit returns by himself, after a few minutes, and goes back to typing. Finally a bear comes along and asks, "What are you doing?

Rabbit: "I'm doing a thesis on how rabbits eat bears."
Bear: "Well that's absurd!"

Rabbit: "Come into my home and I'll show you"

Scene : As they enter the burrow, the rabbit introduces the bear to the lion.

Moral:
IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW SILLY YOUR THESIS TOPIC IS; WHAT MATTERS IS WHOM YOU HAVE AS A SUPERVISOR.

Management Lesson in the context of the working world:
IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW BAD YOUR PERFORMANCE IS; WHAT MATTERS IS WHETHER YOUR BOSS LIKES YOU OR NOT

All My Tears

by Julie Miller

When I go don’t cry for me
In my father’s arms I’ll be
The wounds this world left on my soul
Will all be healed and I’ll be whole

Sun and moon will be replaced
With the light of Jesus’ face
And I will not be ashamed
For my savior knows my name

It don’t matter where you bury me
I’ll be home and I’ll be free
It don’t matter where I lay
All my tears be washed away

Gold and silver blind the eye
Temporary riches lie
Come and eat from heaven’s store
Come and drink and thirst no more

So weep not for me my friend
When my time below does end
For my life belongs to him
Who will raise the dead again

It won’t matter where you bury me
I’ll be home and I’ll be free
It won’t matter where I lay
All my tears be washed away

i'm free atlast

Now ... Beauty is just a matter of taste and will ! I mean ... If you wanna see the beauty outside , you will! If you totaly refuse it ... You'll see nothing beautiful! I'm tired! Really tired ! But happy ! It was a great day ... I'll go to sleep now ... Just think a bit of it : "Wise is the one who knows nothing's bad in Universe! Just the way you look at it may be bad !" It's a qoute combined with some of my thoughts and words ... Never mind !

Don't wanna turn around again!
It's just a bargain!
Again!
And again ...

I can see between his lines ...
There were so many times ...

When I believed the text ...
Asked "What's next?!" ...

Don't wanna let him get me again!
Don't wanna let him know me again!
I'm tired!
I'm tired!

So much pain!
Caused by my chain!
Set me free!

As I wanna be ...

You can see in my eyes ...
There were so many tries!
You can see in my bleeding heart ...
You threw the last dart!

There are no more tries ...
There are no more lies ...
Just wanna see you gone ...

Please remember how to run!

You just have to leave, boy ! I'm gonna take my path ... You're gonna take yours ... And we'll be fine! Really ! I mean I will ! I can bet on it this time ... Just go ... Please set me free ... I can't leave 'till you unlock the chains ...
